Simple As That is a celebration of the freedom that comes when we let go of the need to overthink and simply create. Created with mixed media on a 20" × 20" canvas, this playful composition began as an exploration of color, shape, and expressive mark-making. Along the way, I incorporated handmade paper that I created myself, adding a collage element to one of the vessels and bringing an added sense of texture and craftsmanship to the piece.
As the painting evolved, I felt drawn toward simplicity. Instead of adding more, I found myself stripping away distractions until only the essential forms remained. This painting is a reminder that creativity doesn't always require complexity.
Simple As That invites the viewer to pause, smile, and rediscover the beauty found in uncomplicated moments and uninhibited creativity.
